Real estate answering service skills
I had a surreal experience today. I work as the personal assistant for a very successful travel agent. My job is to answer phone calls and take messages of varying urgency from customers who run the gamut of emotion from elation to giddiness and from despair to abject panic. As you might imagine, this job keeps me going at top speed as I wade through information to immediately help the customer and then get messages to the agent. I was taking a coffee break when I overheard someone talking about what could have been my job. Every detail was the with the exception of sudden foul weather guarantees. Still, I had to ask what occupation this person had, and was told that they worked for a real estate answering service. I was pleased to know that should I decide to get out of the travel game I have the skills to work for another business.
